A
retired teacher of Physics and Electronics who has lived and worked in
Carlisle since 1967. A keen walker and local historian, having walked
extensively in Cumbria and Scotland as well as Halkidiki (Greece), Majorca
and the Alps.
He
retired in 1995 to run P3 Publications and publish local interest and
walking guides, mainly about Cumbria.
David
regularly
gives illustrated slide talks to local history, U3A, Rotary, WI and other
organizations.
Professional activities:
David is a writer and
public speaker on local history with occasional TV appearances onCumbrian
local history.

Robson); Carlisle Canal.
He is currently rewriting his English Lakes - Walking and Local History
Guide as a series of eight booklets. Currently the first four are in print;
The Derwent Fells, The Caldbeck Fells, The Helvellyn Range and East of
Ullswater.
David
has guided in Halkidiki for Waymark Holidays; who have adopted some of his
routes for their ten day walking holidays.
